INDICATIONS FOR USE

Temporary increase in local blood circulation and tissue healing for the relief of minor muscle and joint aches, pains and stiffness and relaxation of muscles; for muscle spasms, minor pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. Temporary relief of wrist or hand pain associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

RESEARCH INDICATES: Photo-Biological effects similar to photosynthesis with deep and superficial activity

Stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is used to repair and replace damaged tissue. Increasing collagen production will decrease the amount of scar tissue in the injured area.

Stimulate the release of adenosine triphosphate, (ATP). When there is an increase in ATP the energy level in the cells increases, thereby allowing the cells to accept nutrients and expel waste products faster.

Increase lymphatic system activity, which allows swelling to be relieved faster.

Increase RNA and DNA synthesis, which helps damaged cells to be replaced more quickly.

Reduce the excitability of nerve tissue. The light energy enters the body as negative ions, which requires the body to send calcium and other positive ions to the area being treated. Theses ions help regulate the nerves, which in turn relieves pain.

Stimulate fibroblastic activity which helps in the repair process.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Pregnancy-do not treat, concern is directly over the uterus. Suspicious lesions, potential cancer. Direct eye exposure. Do not treat over vagus nerve ,cardiac area or thyroid gland.

Do not treat over area recently injected with steroid agent.

Thermal Contrast Stimulator by Healthy Touch Technology

The Contrast Stimulator has all the convenience of a heating pad or cold pack, but with the added benefits of traditional hot & cold thermal contrast therapy. With thermal contrast therapy the temperature cycles back and forth several times between a hot and a cold temperature - something not easily done using packs or baths.

Apply cold or heat or cycle between both.

Thermal cycling can be under manual control with independantly adjustable temperature settings for the cold temperature and the hot temperature - or simply use the Automatic Cycling feature to cycle between preprogammed temperatures automatically 3 times.

For manual operation, two dials provide a way to set the cold temperature and the hot temperature. The head of the wand will be driven to the cold or the hot temperature depending on how you set a toggle switch that sits in the middle of the front panel.

Dial settings for the HOT temperature are from 90°F to 120°F. The nominal temperature of 104°F is clearly marked. The Contrast Stimulator is designed to prevent overheating.

Dial settings for the COLD temperature are from 30°F to 60°F. The nominal operating temperature of 56°F is clearly marked. The lowest temperature that can be reached is somewhat dependent on the time allowed for the head of the wand to cool, and the ambient operating temperature

Using the toggle switch in the center of the front panel, you can easily change manually between the two temperatures or turn off power to the wand.

The Contrast Stimulator comes complete with...

  • Carrying Case - A special carrying case with foam inserts that holds the base, wand, and line cord.
  • Base Unit - The base has a back panel for connections, and a front panel with adjustable controls and temperature displays.
  • Wand (as shown above) with a comfortable 5 inch grip. The wand includes a 2 inch O.D. aluminum plate that is used to apply the heat or the cold. The flexible cord for the wand is approximately 6 feet long.
  • AC line cord - 7 feet long.
  • Contact Medium - One pump bottle of Healthy Touch Technology's Contrast Emergent Contact Medium - a liquid that helps improve the transfer of heat or cold from the head of the wand to the surface it touches.
